My question is basically what the title says. I don't want to get a recommended material only to never use it in class, and thus waste my money on a textbook I will probably never use again. From your experiences, do teachers use recommended materials in class? Is it worth it to buy them?

Bump

I suggest you not buy it from a place it can’t be returned easily. Then ask professor once class starts.

Ask the professor first before buying the recommended material. Many times, it is a supplement if you want to learn more that sort of thing.
