<p>I have a Mac laptop. I don't really like Macs but I can't afford to switch to PC. Should I get Linux?</p>

But good luck at compiling softwares. I just spend the entire night trying to get my ATI driver function properly.</p>

<p>Linux is just a kernel, it wont do ya much good unless you use a OS with it. so i recommend GNU/Linux.</p>

<p>but for those who really care..go with solaris…linux is sometimes a little too "nerdy’..for lack of a better word..</p>

<p>I tried Ubuntu, but I eventually gave up trying to get my wireless card to work with it. I have a Dell laptop, and it just posed too many problems to have a different OS. I’m reasonably happy with Windows Vista. I don’t care about all you techies that are going to slam Vista now. It blows XP out of the water. But I don’t really have any experience with Macs, so I can’t help there.</p>
