Should I Give Gifts To Teachers For Holidays?

it's not that a gift card isnt a good gift, it's that i think giving a gift is overdoing it. a nice, thoughtful card is perfectly sufficient and if i were a counselor getting a present i'd feel like im being paid off for a good rec(even though id have already sent it). i dont know how to explain it, but something about giving gifts to teachers irks me.

I would definitely say give something to your teachers and guidance counselor who helped u out with college apps. I kept mine in the 5-10 dollar range, and didn't think it was too extravagant to thank them for all the work they did for me.

Boxes of chocolate work pretty well!! EVERYONE loves chocolate!!!

i just bought my teacher a 25 dollar gift card from borders, and my stupid a*s brother lost it in walmart! and a box of christmas cards! stupid idiot made me waste 40 bucks for nothing.

^Yeah it's not all fault but blame it on me if it makes you feel better.

wait until the end of the school year.

i actually like the chocolates idea:D dont ask me why its better than a gift card to me. my mind works in mysterious ways.

my parents make me give gifts to all my teachers, even my ****ty homeroom teacher that markes me tardy even when half the campus the still wandering outside. They say that it would be "a positive influence" when they grade my stuff. I dunno. The way they put it makes it sound like a bribe.

I baked cookies for my teachers, counselor, and the class sponsor at the end of each semester. There is nothing wrong with doing something nice for them, and as has been said, a lot of people will be touched by your thought. It never hurts to take in a tray to the office staff, either :P
