So look I wanna study in a renowned college so Imma apply for some of the best ones.
I got a 31 in the first ACT and then a 30 in the second one but with an essay score of 10/12. I got four 5s and one 4 in APs ( they are all sciences and math). I got 800 in SAT M2 as well as Chemistry, but like a 790 in Physics and a 730 in Biology.
As you can tell, my reading skill and Biology knowledge is a hinder to a higher score…
So regardless of any minor chances, should I go straight and try for those colleges? Like Ivy and Universities of California?
Thanks y’all!
your biology subject test isn’t holding you back as much as a 31 on the ACT.
Other than your test scores, UC GPA, EC’s, awards?

Are you in-state CA? No FA available for OOS students for the UC’s
But like I do appreciate that 31 in act… but like idk how much competitive I can be with that… @kjake2000
nahh @Gumbymom I aint in california Im from memphis… my UC GPA is only about 3.8 because i didnt do well on some courses like health you know fel. I got a number of awards and took apart in NHS etc… but not a minority of them are not related to science for which I am tryna apply
Health is not an a-g course so not considered in your UC GPA.
These are a-g courses you need to apply to the UC’s.

And here is the UC GPA calculator: https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/
Since you are OOS, you will be full pay at the California UC’s so around $60K/ year to attend.
Freshman admit rates (2016) for UC GPA of 3.80-4.19:
UCB: 14%
UCLA: 14%
UCSD: 44%
UCSB: 54%
UCD: 58%
UCI: 65%
UCSC: 85%
UCR: 94%
UCM: 96%
If you can afford the costs, it may be worth it to apply. Best of luck.
