Should I give Old Sat a last shot?

I’am only applying next year, but I studied a lot to the old sat should I try it in January or even if I get a good score(2200’s) colleges would rather that I took new sat or the act?

@TryingHarder :

It really depends how many times you have already taken the SAT. In my opinion, it is better to get a 2200 after your first or second try, than after your third or fourth. If you already have a lot of practice with the current SAT, then I think you should stick with it rather than having to learn the new test format. Ultimately, it is your choice. Perhaps you could get a practice book for the new SAT and see how well you do in the practice test.

Colleges have not expressed a preference for new SAT over the old one, so don’t sweat this. If you’ve got a 2200, you are fine for even highly selective schools, but if you want to take it one more time, it’s not a big deal (assuming you’ve only taken the test once before). Don’t waste your time studying for the new SAT just to try to boost your score over 2200 unless you really have nothing better to do with your time.
