I really want to becomes pharmacist since I was five but now I think it might change. I got accepted to Rutgers University School of Arts and Sciences, but I got denied from the school of pharmacy. I am planning to take the prerequisites to transfer to the pharmacy school, but it’s very competitive to get in. Should I still apply to the pharmacy school after completing my prerequisites and taking the PCAT, or should I give up from now? I don’t know what to do.
Are you an incoming freshman for the 2016-2017 year? What are your stats from high school?
Yes I am going to start this fall 2016. In high school I had a 3.6/4.0 GPA and my SAT was 1600/2400. My high school does not do class ranks. I did tutoring, babysitting, and medical club as my activities out of high school.
Go for it! You will keep asking yourself if you could have gotten into Rutgers pharmacy for the rest of your life if that is truly your dream. Everything you did before your acceptance to Rutgers, is eliminated, you are starting fresh. So do your best and you can wow yourself. Never ever give up on a dream!
Is Rutgers your only option (in state, lower tuition) or is it because it’s your dream school and you believe it can take you above and beyond? Either way, as hello43110 said don’t give up. Many people transfer from community colleges and get in as if they were a whole new person It’s a fresh start as so to say. Never give up flowerrocks, you rock!!
Thank you so much you guys. I feel like I’m cramming the first two years with so much classes, because I’m taking classes in the fall, winter, spring, and summer. Money is also a factor in this due to the fees, and I planned out the first two years of my classes nicely until I found out that Rutgers does not offer General Biology 1 until next fall. I also have to take physics and organic chemistry too but the time is also limited.
Sometimes I regret getting into Rutgers, because I could go to a community college and take the prerequisites that I need for a less amount of money and the classes would be easier.
Yes, but would you really want that? Tougher academic classes prepare you for what’s to come. I get that you want to get a strong GPA, but you would be missing out on a good preparation for pharmacy.
Yeah your also right. Either way, pharmacy will also be hard and I should get ready for that now
Ever since I started the fall in Rutgers, I do t feel happy about it the way I used to be. I don’t know if I am capable of handling so much science classes.
