I am really worried that I haven't heard anything from RPI about merit money. I got accepted December 14. I used the candidate choice application for regular decision. My letter said the same thing about them calculating merit aid.

I have a couple of other merit offers, but I think I really to go to RPI. I just don't know what's going on. My parents filed financial aid paperwork, but I porbably won't get any, so without a merit offer I can't go.Darn.

Got accepted on the 19th of December (my 18th birthday! nice bday present) and still have not heard yet. Maybe the calculating merit aid is meant for everyone. If that is so, they should not put that in the letter it is misleading. I really do hope I hear about merit aid.

S got acceptance late December and just got merit award letter in the mail on Saturday.

My guess is that if they say that they are calculating merit award, it will be greater than zero! Look for a big white envelope in your mailbox...

inshallah:
In with my acceptance letter was another letter that said something like "Congratulations on being accepted. We are in the process of calculating your merit award. If you want to get need based aid - fill out the forms for that." (Obviously those aren't the exact words.)

When I got in, it took a couple of weeks after my letter to get my award so I wouldn't worry - they are probably swamped right now so that could be affecting things as well.

I got accepted to RPI ED (i'm a sophmore) and after a bout 2 months (mid-late febuary I believe) I recieved merit aid. I didn't think i'd get any, but in surprise i did.
