Should I go direct to University or Transfer?!

I am a fairly competitive high school senior (3.8 uw gpa, 4.0 w gpa, lots of ecs, decent scores) and have always thought of going straight to University (not community college), but now that I attend a Middle College High School (con-current enrollment @ high school and college), I'm starting to re-think my options. By the time I graduate high school, I'm going to have 42 college units, which means I would only need 18 (one semester) to transfer to a 4-year university in the Spring of 2011.

What would you suggest I do?
I don't know what to do, I'm still on the fence :/

It depends, where do you want to go? How much money does your family have to pay for college?

Some schools, ie Yale, MIT, are almost impossible to transfer into, so you’d be better off applying as a freshmen. But other schools are easier to transfer into than to get in as a freshman if your CC has a transfer agreement with them, ie UVA, UC Berkley (?).

Then, of course, as you know, getting credit a CC saves tons of money. But then again, if you want to go to privates, you’d get less financial aid, I think.

Additionally, even transferring your second semester, you might lose out on some of the oft-talked about college freshman experience and probably feel very lonely while are your friends are at four-year universities. Also, you might have more trouble securing housing.

I’m not really sure if that helped…
