Im pretty sure those of u who clicked on my post are ready to throw rocks at me.haha

it's just that i want to go towards medical field in the future...
but im not good at science..from my high school experience.
will it be worth it to take science class at college to find out how im doing? even though my gpa might be in trouble?

I beg to differ. I think you should. There’s no piont in doing something you’re good at if you don’t like it.

@iPacman so i should go for it?

You do not have to major in biology or chemistry to do pre-med.

You can start taking the pre-med courses alongside any major, though if you get low enough grades that make getting admitted to medical school unrealistic, you may want to drop that idea.

Give it a try. The whole point of college is to expand your horizons, learn, explore, test your limits. Maybe science wasn’t your forte in high school, but I know from experience that sometimes a different teacher, a different viewpoint or teaching style, can make all the difference. Maybe you’re breakthrough is coming. And if not, at least you can say you tried. Good luck! :)

Thank u so much everyone!! :D

My physical therapist is at a doctoral level, and she told me that the science classes were always difficult for her. (She loved literature and history.) Yet she is skilled at what she does! (In her case, she was an athlete, so has that visceral body awareness that comes with the kind of sport she did.)

You don’t have to major in science to go to med school, however you will more than likely have to take science courses as part of your undergrad core-curriculum. Also I believe you will need to take things like human biology in med school anyway, as its very important to understand the human anatomy. Take a major though that you know will be practical just in case medical school does not work out for you. Many times, people change their minds through their college years and realize they might not want to go $100,000+ in debt, especially in this economy. Also med school is highly competitive. I don’t want to put a damper on your future aspirations, but I just want to help you think more realistically.

thank u thank u. but then when i meant by medical field. i didn’t just mean pre med school.
just in general…like medical related careers. (pharmacist, or other non pre med careers)
