<p>I'm currently a freshman at Hunter College. I was thinking about applying to some private universities like Barnard and NYU. As of now I have a 3.8 gpa but in hs I had a 2.4 gpa and 1530 sat score. I didn't even bother applying to these schools but now would I have a shot at these schools? I'm good at writing essays with such low hs stats I was able to get into Rutgers and Fordham. Should I go for it or not waste my time? I don't really have any hope or confidence </p>
<p>i mean it doesn’t hurt to try. but if you have such a downer attitude then why bother? go for it honestly, the worst that can happen would be each school rejects you. just try. </p>
