Hey everyone! First post here so I’m still not quite sure how this works. I just hope you can help me.
I’ve been accepted to NYU and plan on doing the Business/Film double major (in Stern and Tisch). Problem is, as you may have guessed, I’m not sure if it’s a sound investment (as I can’t totally afford it).
Financial situation:
Parents are helping me by covering the full cost of the freshman year and after that with about 60% of the yearly cost (35-40k approx). The thing is that the program is 5 years long, and that will be one extra year of tuition. Have currently received no scholarships from NYU ('cause I’m an international student and I know they don’t help us out very much). So I’m about 80k short of covering the full cost of my career.
I plan on working part-time anyways during the academic year and on holidays and I know that could help cover the gap. I also plan on applying to outside scholarships. Yet, based on some NYU experiences you may have, would you say the school is worth the financial hassle? I don’t know if I should consider the loans I may need too large to pay off.
Thanks for your time!
