how is the interracial dynamics one?

ACTUALLY, scratch that, I'm NOT taking a ge cluster... but how many extra GE classes do I have to take, as oppose to someone taking a cluster? I know one of them is writing II..

Look it up on the registrar's site.

the only difference is that the spring seminar counts for a GE, writing II, and your seminar. that puts you 1 class ahead. so you'd need to take one extra GE class if you don't do a cluster.

one extra GE... that's not bad at ALL. how about if all your GE's are fun ones... and you enjoy them more/even decide to major in something that you found through a GE?

and that's why i'm not taking a cluster. i HATE how they encourage it so much, though! "what's great about UCLA? freshman clusters... get ahead!" meaning, overwork yourself because of one extra GE.

i'm not saying it's bad, it's just not for me... my OC actually decided to be a history major because of the HMT cluster... so yeah, depends.

agree with jeyday. you will have more than enough time to finish your ge's, and there are lots of interesting ones out there. i have taken both the cluster and individual ge classes, and i enjoyed the latter MUCH more.

I agree. It's up to you. I chose not to take a GE cluster because none of the ones offered interested me. I figured, since clusters are generally more work, it should be in something interesting if I did decide to take one. In the end, I took individual GE's instead. I ended up taking Classics 10, 20, 30, and 51B (which is kinda like my very own personally made up GE cluster I guess haha). I enjoyed each of those topics and classes much more than some of my friends enjoyed their clusters, so make sure the cluster interests you if you take it.

I chose not to do a cluster as well - none of them interested me, didn't know how flexible my schedule would be, and was totally clueless about what major to choose. So, I chose random GE classes.
