My grades right now

IB Math Studies - A-

These are my grades as of right now.
[Combining term 1-3]

Should I go for the diploma? How hard is it? I heard that it is very hard...can someone please give me some suggestions?

Shouldn’t you have declared your anticipated candidacy already?

What would those grades be on a 1-7 point scale?

And are you talking about DROPPING your diploma halfway through the course? Those grades are fine, you’ll still get your diploma.

You’re halfway through… just complete it.

no i’m going for it next year. this is my grade with IB but not the diploma. sorry if i didn’t make it clear but what i mean is that should i go for the diploma next year? are my grades good enough for it?

A lot of people at my school spend hundreds of dollars just to fail a test/essay and not get the diploma. I opted out, and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. With the extra time, I got over 2x the number of volunteer hours required by IB, along with more leadership and probably better grades.

Your grades are good enough for the Diploma.

I mean continue with it, you’re doing well in a majority of classes.

These don’t affect your IB Grade… which is the result of your examinations in your IB subjects. You need a 24. Just remember that.

The only troubling grade is the Science grade - C. I was confused because you are taking TOK but was not actually in IB, or at least that was how I read it. The rest of the grades are fine.

It will be hard, but so would any other challenging course.

^ I’m taking ToK and am not in IB.

At least the way my school does it, IB kids will have top priority. Then come AP juniors - he is a sophomore.
Definitely strange - sophomore in TOK who is considering IB (and thus retaking the course).

^ haha no, i’m actually a junior. i’m choosing classes for my senior year. BTW, I live in a small town and we only have 2 IB schools here, so if I go for IB diploma, then I might be the 1st class to get the diploma.
