<p>Whoa! Again, the purpose of this thread has been turned into an attack of those who present their opinions. It is obvious that this thread has turned into a HCM bashing instead of the original offensive post. As an AU student, I find it kind of sad that we allow such posts to go unchallenged. Of course, everyone has the right to their own opinion and there is no reason for jkazoo to bring up the “rules” of CC.</p>
<p>Jkazoo – I too follow HCM’s posts. She is an active participant across the board with many schools. Yes, she seems partial to AU, but I see her information over the years as helpful, supportive and corrective. My sense is that she speaks from some professional position and seems highly knowledgeable. But what really captured my attention more is your reference to the moderator’s warning at the top of AU’s site. These rules were posted based on the demeaning, discriminatory comments of a few students. I was very involved in these threads and the posters broke all the rules of CC and there was a lot of private interaction with the moderators, including my own. My involvement helped to get rid of them. Although, sometimes I feel they are still active in some way (especially the last statement by Aupolikid which sounds very similar to prior statements by these students….“but know many of the other AU students who have read this forum with me have laughed out loud at your constant cheerleading of our school.” If anyone wants to pm me, I can tell you more of what went on back then. Thanks to HCM and some others, we were able to clean up AU’s site.</p>
<p>No school is perfect; however, there have been some very derogatory AU posts and at times the posts need to be defended. Most AU students for whatever reason (probably too busy) ignore the damaging posts unlike most of the schools on CC. Most kids at other schools don’t tolerate it. Over the years, I have seen this defensive behavior at all schools. I don’t know too many schools who would sit there and let someone come on with a new thread as a stepping stone for a whole lot better school. I agree with HCM and pswillia that this is not the right forum!</p>
