Should I go to Baruch?

I want to major in Finance/Economics and I know Baruch is one of the top 3 business schools in NY. Now I just read that Baruch just added dorms. I live in the city and want the college experience. I live out in Brooklyn, so would it make sense to dorm in the Manhattan dorms that Baruch just bought. But the problem I'm having with this is would their be like a small amount of students and do the kids go home on weekends? Because that defeats the purpose of a dorm.

Here's the link I read about it
Baruch College- Housing at 101 Ludlow

I am not an expert, but I think it really depends on if you want to live away from home. I live in the city too but I don’t want to live at home when I am in college, I want to live on campus regardless. So, whether or not a lot of people go home or stay there doesn’t matter to me. If you believe that you will be at home more than your dorm, then maybe consider staying home if that’s what you want to do.

I will be staying at the dorm. I just want to know if its a good idea since I live close to the school. But if I stay in the dorm I will be able to get to school quicker and not have to worry about the train not running on time and the college experience.

bump… .

I guess you could say it’s a good idea because then you’ll live on your own and live the traditional college experience and you’ll be close to resources, you’ll be able to come home whenever you feel like it.

I was actually considering going to Baruch…when i found out it had no dorms i pretty much wrote it off. However, i also read that article they’ll have those new dorms starting this fall…but its only for like 150 students, i imagine they’ll be super competitive. Would a transfer(me) be able to get housing at 101 ludlow? Would i be able to even apply to those dorms?
