bumpity bump bump

I’m confused as to where Harvard or Yale comes into play in this.
I dont really know a lot about international students vs. students in the USA
but:
-your SATs are great.
-it doesn’t look like you took too hard of a courseload.
-your ECs, excluding mission trips, are kind of bleh.

You’re applying to a decent amount of Ivies, so I would definitely write a STELLAR essay incorporating maybe your missionary experience, but focus on it with less about YOU and more about the experience or like other people.

good luck  chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/712633-what-my-chances.html

oh I forgot to mention, I’m an IB diploma candidate, and I’m currently taking all the AP courses/exams offered at OTHER highschools.

bummmmmmmmmmppp

id say good shot but no shoe in. doesnt matter which of the two you apply to unless you have a legacy or something at one.

um…

Please do NOT do this. Mission trips are a very common topic and will not help you stand out to an admissions board. Also, the main purpose of this essay is for the school to learn about you, so focusing on the experience or other people is also a bad idea unless you can spin it so that your personality shows through.

^ agreed. expensive mission trips are not going to help you alot.
i’d say you have very gd chances for the schools you’ve stated (upenn, rice, brown etc)

I’d say good shot in all your schools.

Though you have a very low chance, apply for HYP just because you have a shot.

I’m not actually applying to HYP,

btw I’m also an IB diploma candidate (predicted: 43)

^why not? go for it.

I don’t really stand out in any way. haha.

1 AP isn’t going to cut it…

Hahahahaahahahahahahahhahhahahahahahahahahahaahhahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahah omg
omg omg your rice joke is so funnny wow ohahaahahahaah ahahahahahah sooooooo funny ahhahaha i laugh at it.

Cus its a food and a school hahaahhaahahhaahhahhahaahahahahahahaahahahaha

Finally, someone who acknowledges my joke =p thanks for that.

any Chances?

I went to the MIT information session, and they said that taking AP exams/classes that are not offered at your school really gives you an advantage when it comes to admissions (my school only offers IB)…

The closest school from where I live that offers the AP exams is 2 hours drive away…
so yeah,I’m planning on taking 3 AP exams next year May.

I’m an IB diploma candidate just FYI (44 predicted)

your stats probably place you in the bottom 10% of international students applying for those competitive schools.

What are you planning on majoring in? Do you show a passion for it in your EC’s? And also, what grade are you in? :)

I plan on majoring in biochemistry…I’m a senior haha
