I am currently an undergrad studying at Sciences Po Paris in France. I am specializing in Law and Politics. Next year, I will have to begin applying for Graduate Programs. Here is a little of what I want to do:
- Work for a Senator as a Legislative Assistant (Foreign Affairs)
- Potentially work at the State Department as a Foreign Service Officer
- Eventually work at the White House National Security Office*
- Perhaps become Secretary of State one day? Who knows.

So, what do you recommend? Do I need to go to Law School or should I just attend grad school with a focus on International Affairs and Politics?

What stats do I need to get into Harvard, Yale, Columbia, or Georgetown Grad Programs?
Thanks! x

Probably a GPA of at least ~3.8 and LSAT score of at least 172 to have a decent shot at harvard yale and columbia, a bit less stats for georgetown maybe.

To get a gauge on law school admissions selectivity, you may want to look at [Welcome to LawSchoolNumbers.com | Law School Numbers](<a href=“Recently Updated J.D. Profiles | Law School Numbers”>http://www.lawschoolnumbers.com/) . The graph for each school makes it easy to see what ranges of stats have good versus poor chances of admissions at the school.

Go to law schools only if you want to be a lawyer. Go to an international studies or international affairs program if you want to be in government service (State Department, CIA or NSA, etc.). Study international law if you want both.

Get an international business degree if you want to do international business which can be just as exciting and require just as much talent as the other two. Here is a link to international business schools:

Only go to law school if you can get into at least a top 20 school. If not, career prospects aren’t great and neither is pay.
