I am from pennsylvania and been accepted to many instate schools and one cal state school. I really wanted to move to southern california but I thought about it and going to california state university: northridge would be too much and not worth it. So I've been admitted into santa monica college now and I really think I should go it will be a little more expensive than my instate community colleges. I even found a room for 900 dollars which can be shared by me and a friend so that splits the cost down to 450 a month. So do you think it will be worth it. I really want to go to a cal state or private but not right away.

Are you looking to establish California residency by going to a cc first? Because if you do, going to a UC or a CSU will be far cheaper than going to a private.

I don’t think I could establish residency because even though my father doesn’t claim me he is cosigning my student loan because I have no credit. I believe they still consider that as getting help from your parents I don’t know.
