Should I go to Spain? URGENT

So I have two choices:

Easy mode - Stay here in the US and take classes at school and graduate on time no problem and I'd get to do a Psych minor and I'd cruise through senior year not taking too many classes. I'd be able to enjoy senior year more, however I wouldn't have the study abroad experience and grow as a person.

Hard mode - Go abroad to Spain next semester. I'd would be taking throw-away credits because I don't need more to graduate and I can't take my major classes abroad. The risk is this: I'm waiting to hear back from some accounting firms to see if I have an internship this summer. IF I do AND my college offers a summer class I would only be taking 5 classes first semester senior year and 4 my last semester. Managable.

However, if I don't get the internship and depending on whether they offer the summer class, I would have to take a combination of 10-11 accounting classes senior year, 3 of which would be honors classes, AND apply for a full-time job at the same time. Not to mention I would have to drop my Psych minor either way if I go abroad.

I know people say the find themselves when they go abroad and they become much more independent, but idk if its worth the risk a miserable senior year once I'm back.

Also, if I do go abroad, there is also a possibility of my mother allowing me to take an extra semester to finish my degree. The problem with that is that I don't even know if accounting is what I want to do. I'm good with numbers but I don't enjoy accounting necessarily. I've never been able to really discover what my passions are and accounting just seemed like a safe, guaranteed job after college. So making my mom spend even more money for a career I don't even know if I'll be happy with.

Unfortunately there really isn't a middle ground.

Oh yea, I have today to decide.

Ideas?

This is a personal decision in your situation. Are you willing to take a heavy course load during your senior year ? Are you willing to stay an extra semester in college ? Have you studied Spanish ? If not, then why Spain ?

If you’re learning Spanish and part of your aim in going to Spain is to improve your Spanish, then I would say that it is worth it.

Thanks for the replies. I chose spain because I thought it would be cool and useful to know a second language, but my frien who went to Spain last year said he’s already losing it heavily. I would love to study abroad and push my boundaries, but I also need to know when I’m getting in over my head.

I want to be able to enjoy senior year and get the most out of school, but I’m worried I would miss all the life-changing experience of Spain. However if I need spain to be amazing I might put too much pressure on my experience and not have the best time, and thus not make it worth it.
