I'm trying to decide between UIUC and UVA. I'm going for Math and psychology - but this may change as I go along. What do you think?

Well what do you like about each school? That may help. I love U of I but I don't know much about UVA so I don't think I can help much there.

Well, why don't you tell me what you love about uiuc :) in social life and academics

It is almost indescribeable. I love it here b/c I like the people the evironment. It is close enough to home that I can go home when I feel like it but far enough away that I am independent. There is just a good atmosphere here and everybody really unites around game time.

I know I am getting a kick-ass education here. I am a chemE and the program here is amazing (and really hard). Math and psychology I don't know too much about but I think my math classes are pretty good. It depends a little too much on the TA tho but so far I've been fine with that. Psychology is a very popular major and well supported here. I liked my intro class that I took.

I don't think that did the best job of answering your question. Have you visited? What do you know about it? Why would you want to choose UVA over here? What are you apprehensions about picking here? That would specify some things.

I have one important question; are most courses taught my like professors? Or are a lot of them taught by TAs?

mostly ta's

Wow that sucks.

not really u of i still has the 4th best engineering program thts why im goin

Math courses are taught by profs but you will often come to love and cherish your TAs (they lead the discussions, not teach). In psychology it is only the massive entry level courses that are TAUGHT by TAs. Once you rise up the ranks to where it matters, profs will teach more.
