Should I have 4 years of Science? (Never Got An Answer)

I'm in a dilemma where I have to choose a 4th year of Science(AP Chem) or no science at all.

I'm not going to major in physics, so I'm not taking physics. If my school offered an H. Physics or a distance school offered it, I'd take it in a heartbeat.

Should I take AP Chem online? I'm interested in chem. I'll have to convince my parents to pay $429 for the course online.

Would colleges judge me if I didn't take an extra year of science?

My schedule already includes:

AP Lit(alternates days w/US Gov)
AP US Gov
AP Cal AB+BC
Band
(Free period-4th)

Fren 2B= Fren 4(online through CSU Sacramento)
Econ 2= Macro Econ(online through Irvine Valley College)

Would my schedule be too busy?

I'm starting a few clubs next year and I'm an officer at some other clubs, too.

By the way, I'll be taking AP Chem online.

If I don't take AP Chem, then I might take an Intro to Stats course(Stats 2) through UC Berkeley Extension ot keep my schedule as it stands.

I'm majoring in the humanities. I still took physics.

You should take an fourth year of science though. Most engineering/science majors require physics AND chem so just take one.

I don't know how much work your AP classes give you, but last year I took 6 APs - Calc BC independent study and I was crazy busy.

I think you really need 4 sciences in hs if you want to major in any sort of science/engineering ... or even just to be competitive for any major at top schools.

But, taking 2 classes already online, I don't know how busy that'll cause you to be.

Wait... so you'll be a physics major and you're not taking physics?
Taking physics can only help you when you take college physics. It'll give you an excellent foundation.

Additionally, no science major should have fewer than 4 years of science. Also, I wouldn't recommend that online AP Chem. Not only is that a waste of $430, but lab experience is an important aspect of it. Unless you plan to take general chem in college (I self studied AP chem in HS, but took honors gen chem my freshman year of college... still got credit from AP, and it also gave me a great base of knowledge for the college chem course.)

I am so confused. If you've already decided that you'll take AP Chem, what's your question? And what about the physics thing? I think you might have left out a few very essential words...

I'm just asking if taking online AP Chem would be good.

I can't find any online H. Physics that won't cost too much.

How necessary is it for a 4th year of science if one only wants to be a social studies major (Political science or Economics) at a top school?

State requirements in Texas are enforcing students from the next incoming freshman class to take four years of science credit. They, apparently, feel it is necessary to do it. Online course for Chemistry? AP Chemistry is a difficult class. Some private colleges, that I have seen (according to collegeboard.com) require/reccommend that you take a lab-based science course...just something to consider. $429 is a lot of money...wouldn't just taking science in college be cheaper? In my opinion, AP Chemistry is to save money haha.

I'm taking four years of science, but I want to be a science major.
Seriously, don't kill yourself over it.
What did you want to major in?

I want to major in either higher Education, Business, Law, or Psychology.

Also, there are other possible majors or minors that I'm still considering: Chemistry, Biology, or French.

I might minor in Music.

Ask the admissions offices of the colleges that you're planning to apply to.

Seriously, you need to make your own life decisions. This is like the 10th thread you've made on this exact topic. Obviously people have told you their opinions; you just keep wanting a different response. And of course, that's the definition of insanity.

Take AP Psychology online. You get college credit. It may not be chemistry, but at least it will be in a field related to your potential majors: Education, Psychology, and I suppose Law and Business in a way.

I took it AP Psychology after an IB psychology class, made a four. It is definitely respectable, and my no means "less" than AP Chemistry.

You've asked this way too many times.
