Should I include my terrible HS GPA in transfer essays?

My senior HS year was 0.686. I failed out.

10 years later, I am have finished my first year at CC with a 3.9 GPA, 12 units of Honors Classes, member of Phi Theta Kappa honor society.

Does including that bad HS gpa make me look good for the turn-around?

Also I plan on applying to UCB, UCLA, UCSB, UCSD, SDSU, Stanford, and some long shots like East Coast Ivy League.

As far as I’m aware, you don’t have to report you HS stats for the UCs, but you will for others.

wow. 10 years later? talk about an undertaking.

you know what probably looks good?
If you’re writing an essay on how you turned yourself around from the high school days and the university does not request your high school transcript, mention your gpa/drop out in the essay.

I feel it may look quite good that you’re not avoiding your past faults and want to show how you improved from it.

On the other hand, if it’s a selective university you it might think that it’s cliche to do that. If they don’t require an HS transcript, don’t mention it at all. Market yourself as a top notch/solid applicant (supplemented by years of experience).

its good that ur applying though, because now u have a fight chance…im kind of the same situation as u man, except i didn’t skip school for 10 years, but i did have a bad high school transcript

i think its good to show that you turned yourself around…

also, you say, youre applying to: blabla stanford and some long shots like east cost ivy league…

how are they any different than stanford ? :P

I also failed out of HS and turned my GPA around in college, and I made this a central point in my admissions essays for all the schools that I applied to. I ended up admitted at USC, UCB, UCSD, UCSB, and UCD.

thats right, learn from grey ^^
and ofc he picked usc, like a real man :D
