Hello, I am applying to UC Berkeley (L&S), UCLA (engineering), UCD (engineering), UCSB (engineering), and UCSD (engineering).

Since I am applying engineering to most schools should I only submit the test score with the best math? In my case

ACT:
30 Composite
33 English
30 Math
32 Reading
26 Science

SAT:
630 CR
720 M
680 W

2030 Composite

I know my SAT math is much better than my ACT, so should I only include my SAT, or both? I'm also retaking the SAT in December to get a 720+ on writing and 670+ on reading.

I applaud you for retaking the SAT but I would not count on getting those higher scores – almost every senior I know that retook either the SAT or ACT their senior year did not achieve the higher scores that they hoped for – (not enough time to truly prepare, stress, college apps due, etc). I do not have any experience with the UCs, so I would like to see what some of the more experienced parents reply. My gut feeling is that your scores, SAT or ACT, may not be high enough for the engineering programs you have listed compared to the other students that are applying. Have you considered other programs – maybe Cal Poly Pomona which I believe might fit your numbers?

A 30 ACT is equivalent to a 1980-2010 SAT. Send both. That would expose your 720 math score. You have reasonable chances at the UCs below UCB and UCLA.
