Should I include this class on my application?

So here's the deal: I took AP American Government on FLVS (Florida Virtual School), but on my school schedule I got placed in AP American Government for the Spring even though I'm taking the class on FLVS already.

I talked to my guidance counselor and told her that I'd still like to be in AP American Government so I can do a sort of review for the AP test. She said it'd be fine (since I have no other classes to take), and changed the class to an Auditing period (or a Research credit, whatever). So literally, on my transcript it'll say Audit / Research / something or other.

My guidance counselor said that I really shouldn't include it in the senior classes section of the college applications that I fill out.

I'm kind of confused here though. It doesn't count as anything (basically it could be a free period), but it'll still show up on my transcript.

Should I include it on college apps anyways? I'm also afraid of how admissions officers might look at it.

Any advice guys?

Bump! Anyone?

When you apply, you will send your regular HS transcript and your FLVS transcript. The FLVS transcript will show the class that you took for a grade, and your HS transcript sounds like it will show that you audited the class and will not get a grade. You can list the HS class in the same way on your application.

Thanks! I’ll list it as AP American Government (Auditing).
