Hi. I’m a junior in high school.
I’ve been in this one choir (won’t say specific name) for 10 years. I’ve done a lot of cool things with them, such as perform in the White House, United Nation Headquarters in Geneva, and with celebrities. I’m also consistently ranked in the top 10% in my section (usually ranked 5-10 out of 65 people).
Should I include this on my resume? Or does it sound like I’m bragging?
Do it! It can only help you.
That is not bragging. If you aren’t going to highlight your accomplishments then who will?
1000% yes! These are unique experiences that add to your character and overall “profile”. The application is basically the place to brag about your achievements, accomplishments, and goals.
You’ve done the work…now show it!
Congrats + good luck!
It is not bragging at all. It is perfectly appropriate to highlight your accomplishments and experiences.
What is this ‘resume’ for? You certainly will want to put it on your college applications (and I would say you have done it for 10 years, put some bullets of your accomplishments in the additional information section – yes they only want high school stuff, but this sounds like a long term, high quality commitment). Resume… well, what are you applying for? (Note that most colleges don’t want resumes any more, it is just a duplication of what is in the app and more paper for them to review – a few old school GCs push them, but you don’t really need one for college applications IF you put together your application correctly and thoughtfully).
Thanks everyone I shall do that then!
