Should I join the Navy or become an i-banker after Berkeley Undergraduate (Haas)?

I am currently a sophomore in college in NROTC and was wondering if after college to join the navy as a submarine officer (would take 5 years of my life) or go straight to ibanking?

If I join the navy, I would become a better leader and have a story to tell before I go get my MBA, but at the opportunity cost of 5 years of ibanking experience and 5 years of building a clientele.

You got offered a position?

You wouldn’t make a good Navy Officer. You don’t like the job. Your mind and your heart are elsewhere and you’ll get people killed.

Maybe it’s too soon to worry about that. But if you already want out of the Navy and all you have done is NROTC then you need to be honest with yourself. Your not committed.

The military is a racket.

Did you just not post earlier that you were an Army Infantry Officer? Need to get your story straight.

PX Ranger…

You need to evaluate whether or not you want to be in the military or not. I believe Junior year is when you sign the contract for the military, so timing is short.

Keep in mind you don’t need 5 year experience for MBA. Also, the likelihood that you would do 5 years of i-banking is rare, since people get burnt out pretty quick.
