I'm a freshman and I'm trying to do a lot of science extracurriculars. Right now I'm only in HOSA, and I plan to volunteer at a hospital over the summer, so I need to do more. I think that I would enjoy the Science Olympiad club, but I haven't taken any AP sciences. What do you even do in one of those clubs (I'm guessing you study for the USABO/USACO/whatever)? Would I be okay joining this year? Thanks.

Do you mean the Science Olympiad Team?
Or Physics/Chemistry Olympiad?
Both are very different.

It says from my schools website that it does bio, chem, physics, etc.

Science Olympiad at my school doesn’t study for anything. They just have individual projects that are meaningless and somehow compete in those. There are also random 10 question tests and such in competitions. Probably the reason why the club shut down due to lack of interest…

Science Olympiad has nothing to do with chemistry bio or physics Olympiads, it is completely different, you do more than take tests and it is a team based competition.
