Hi so I’ve been wondering what schools I can get into and you can see my stats on other threads
But basically I’m wondering if it’s worth applying to my two more reach type schools brown and amherst
Or I could just ed II to vassar or hamilton college or something
I’ve never visited any of these schools but I don’t know if it’s more worth it now to just know sooner and stop freaking out or to take the chance and apply anyways
Also I’ve really barely started my common app essay which is bad i know
So I wouldn’t have a lot of time to perfect stuff for the brown amherst cause people said try to frame yourself the best but honestly im so done i don’t know if its worth trying anymore
Thanks
You should apply to any college you like for which you are qualified. ED, either I or II, is for students who are sure of their choice. The RD round will not be an impossible round for you in any event. Have you posted what your academic areas of interest are?
@merc81 I am planning to apply as art history or some kind of english artsy major
But I really want to major in theatre so i’m probably gonna do that wherever I actually get accepted
I guess RD would be okay, I just would ED out of convenience of knowing sooner because I don’t feel like I would get accepted to any top tier schools anyways
Thanks for responding
“I am planning to apply as . . . some kind of english artsy major”
Lol (in an entirely good way)
How many colleges have you visited, if you care to say?
@merc81 haha i am picking some variation of a writing or art major because i think those are pretty much what my app would suggest and i like art and humanities
I have only been to brown and honestly, I don’t remember it much since it was a while ago
so basically none of these schools
Think about mentioning theatre. You really don’t “apply for” anything anyway. You will be free to select your major when you are a sophomore. (I know you know this.)
“so basically none of these schools”
Lol (again, entirely positively). Are you planning on pursuing an online degree?
The college application process is not that complicated for entirely qualified students. What you have done up until this point and finishing your applications is all that is necessary for you to have a successful outcome.
@merc81
glad to provide a few lols
I guess that’s a good point thank you
I think i (cross my fingers) make it into my less selective schools without ed
I think i might have just wanted the excuse to not have to deal with the possibility of rejection from any more selective schools…sigh… such is the college app process though
thank you!
