Should I just give up now before I hurt myself?

• Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): school doesnt rank

Essays:Excellent (i can say with some confidence that i'm a strong writer and am hoping on winning the admins with my writing voice)
Teacher Recommendation: Excellent (from college psych prof and ap english teacher (both who i have great relationships with))
Counselor Rec: I'm sure it will be great</p>

<p>I was planning on going with early decision , but they highly recommend 3 sat subject tests and the deadline for october registration has already passed. i could apply early without any subject tests or apply regular decision with the subject tests. what do i do? please reply soon, </p>

<p>I think you need some kind of science given that you want to go into fields involving science. Yes, you really should take subject tests. You also really need a higher SAT, especially since JHU admits a lot of people from New York.</p>

<p>I hate ‘chance’ threads. In your case, I strongly suggest you also find some schools with stats that are similar to your, and that offer good financial aid.</p>

<p>Well a short look shows JH SAT 25/75 SAT range is 1960/2260 and you have a 1750. That puts you 210 below the 25% range. So I would say you need to significantly improve your SAT and cure cancer / play a sport at a professional level. Don’t give up and please put in an application (don’t stress over it), but you need to look at other schools that will likely make you happy. Best of luck on everything… </p>

<p>If you’re not sure how to compare yourself to the average accepted student at any school do a Google search for the school by name and add the words “common data set”, then look at this years data. Sorry if you already know about CDS but a lot of people don’t know or forget. CDS is a wonderful source of info.</p>
