It is 4th quarter sophomore year (high school) and I got 3 B's last semester (4.0 freshman year). I felt like crying, I had average A's in the classes but the finals killed me and I went to the 89 range in those classes. I have tried a lot harder this semester but I think I might get another B. I am 90% confident I will get a 4.0 junior year and senior year which will bring my gpa up to 3.93. I just got really unlucky with teachers and got all the hardest ones. My junior year should be easier (with 4 AP + 2 Self Study). Do I still have a chance with a 3.9~3.93 range just for GPA part (10 AP total, rest honors). High class rank 15 out of 800 even with 3 B's though, not much grade inflation in my school.

You speak of “difficult” teachers? I tell you to mostly disregard them and use your books for learning.

You should never give up. Don’t be ridiculous. 3 B’s won’t kill you.

You’re in the top 2% of the class. You’re doing fine. Just don’t put too much pressure on yourself. If you’re not having fun while learning, it’s probably not worth it.

That is what I did and I received A’s sophomore year and junior year, years when I have AP classes.

3 B’s don’t kill your chance of getting into Cornell.

Never give up! I got a couple of B’s on my transcript (none in recent years, but still) and I still got in. Just keep working hard! good luck!

I got into ILR with a 3.75…
