Should I just stick it out in AP Calc AB or drop it?

I had a B in precalc and for some reason I decided it would be a good idea to take AP Calc AB. At first I understood the material but then it started getting way to fast for me. I missed a few classes and tried to catch up, but I never could. I ended getting a C and an F on a quiz, and then failing my last test. After thinking it over I decided it would be best for me to drop it. I already am taking 4 other AP classes and I have no plans to major in STEM or business. I am already overwhelmed with all my classes and I don't have the time to invest in a class I absolutely hate.
I know I will probably end the quarter with a D and the semester with a C-. I already had a form signed by my teacher, but I haven's submitted it yet.
My question is it worth having a C or possibly C- on my transcript for calc? If I drop it I will still take math, my school offers an easier class called Prob Stat and Discrete.
I know calc is a class colleges really favor, but is it really worth tears and stress just to appeal to colleges?

You should and you need to do it fast. First see if you can have another math class to replace it.

I would strongly recommend that you replace it with another math class. Unless you are applying to colleges that specifically state they only require 3 years of math, you need 4 years of math. This does not mean you need to continue in AP Calculus though (especially with 4 other APs and I agree with you, having a C or C- is not ideal). In fact, in California, getting a C- would negate your entire semester and you would be required to retake the semester…

I was in the same boat as you- only i knew i wouldnt be able to handle calc AB – so i scheduled stats instead. AP stats is so much easier than AP Calc

First off, taking 5 APs was probably a bad idea to begin with, but now you’re stuck with being overloaded, tanking Calc AB, and any attempt to salvage that will likely torpedo the remaining classes. In cases like this, you need to cut your losses and if you can do well in the remaining four APs, cutting Calc AB is your best option. Even if you wind up with just a study hall, that’s the option that will cause the least harm.
