Should I keep going with French?

Hey,

So my main problem is that I really dislike French this year (French III), and don't know if I should continue it next year in French IV. The class has gotten boring, and to be blunt, I i have no interest in speaking French like I did a few years ago.

My HS requires 2 years of a foreign language to graduate, and I'm going to end up taking 3, if not 4.

So should I go on to French IV next year or take another language? If I were to take another language I would either take Spanish or Latin.

What option would look better for college admissions?
I'm looking for colleges around the same as level as Rutgers and Stony Brook, to name a few.

I'm just looking for advice and I apologize if this is in the wrong forum.

ps. I'm a soph.

Check out the requirements of the schools in which you have interest. Some schools “recommend” a number of years of certain subjects, but it essentially means require. They just “recommend” rather than require because they want to say that if the option is not available to you, you can still apply. So look at both recommendations and requirements. As long as you can fulfill the recommendations at your school, you should.

If you really hate school French look around to see if your school has a dual enrollment program or something of the sort where you can take classes in particular subjects at a community college or local college or university rather than at your school.
