I am definitely looking at law school in the future but I don't want to do pre-law because from what I hear it is a waste of time. For my major I'm either gonna do econ or undecided.

Anyway, will it help me if I list 'lawyer' as a possible future profession on the common app? Should I let colleges know in the supplements what I'm interested in doing 4 years from now?

I would say yes because that’s what I’m going into as well (law). I don’t see how it can harm the application (unless of course, you’re majoring in something like theater, which has no correlation with law.)

I’m not sure if it’s going to help you or not, but it won’t hurt. It DOES make you seem more determined than someone who’s undecided. In fact, I heard once that it is an extreme disadvantage to put Undecided Major on one’s app.

Just think about this. Theres a “future profession” slot on the app. Its there for a reason, why would they want you to lie? You put what you think youll be or want to be in 4 years. stop freaking out over the apps people, theyre so simple
