Should I lie about my major?

I know that I really want to major in psychology, but it's such a common degree that I've been told it could hurt my chances or getting accepted. I'm pretty decent at math/science but it's definitely not my passion, so would it help if I put down engineering or astrophysics or something, especially since I'm a girl and we tend to be a small minority in those fields? These are the schools I'm thinking about applying to:

UVA
W&M
Virginia Tech
Oberlin College
Amherst
Georgetown
University of Chicago
Dartmouth

Depends on how hard it is to change majors once admitted and on your file.

Frankly, I don’t think any major would massively affect your chances at any of the schools. I’d suggest just being honest.

We want to see your file by now…

Think for a second. If it’s such a common major, that’s because many people get accepted with it.

It doesn’t matter.
