I participated in a certain activity from when I was about 7 until I was about 12 or 13. This year (I am a senior), I'm starting to do it again. However, since the Common App only lets you include the activities that you participated in during high school, colleges would only see that I participated in the activity for one year.

My question is: Should I list the activity, or does it seem like I'm padding my app?
Also, if I do list it, is there some way that I can show colleges that I have re-discovered my passion for it, and that it's not just something I decided to start right before apps are due?

similar question: someone told me to only put stuff i did in high school…i have a lot of stuff I’ve been active in for years though with church and other groups, wouldn’t that be a good thing to add (shows dedication, not a quitter, etc)?? Or will they only want to see what I’ve done recently?

@boxerdog17 If you’ve been involved in that activity for all four years of high school, I would suggest checking all four boxes and then in the description including something like “Participated in x activity for x number of years.”
