Should I list this?

The other thread got me thinking; I self taught my self Arabic and Chinese. I love languages, and I learned those two (with the help of websites, etc no tutors) because hey are rare. Should I list these in my college app? Though I don't know how to verify it, meaning I've never done any tests for them.

Should I still include these?

Yes! Definitely, I self-taught myself Esperanto and it shows I have a passion for language, I plan to teach myself Italian and German on [Language Learning with Livemocha | Learn a Language Online - Free!](http://www.livemocha.com) next.

Okay, It’s fine I don’t have any proof of it, right? I never took any of those language tests, etc. Thanks for your answer!:)

xdarkness – claims that you “LEARNED” Chinese and Arabic online may raise a few eyebrows. For one, you can’t prove it, two, many linguists will claim that online learning doesn’t do the trick, especially with a tonal language like Chinese. So go ahead and talk about your interest in languages, and your experience with STUDYING them online… but don’t make any statements that sound like you’re claiming fluency. It’ll only make adcom folks sceptical - and you don’t want them looking at your application with scepticism!
