Should I list this...

I was my grade's president in my freshman year. However, a new administration came to my school and basically dissolved its student government (we have a few school-appointed 'student ambassadors' each grade, who are chosen based on parents connection to the school). So should I list the fact that I was the freshman president (it implies that I wasnt for other years, which could seem to say I wasnt good). Should I write a side-note saying there were no other presdients for other years? should I write nothing? Thanks.

LOL student ambassadors. That's really a bummer, actually - I'm sorry. But anyways, MIT only lets you list 5 of your activities, so I don't know if something you did for one year three years ago would make that. But if it does, I might say something about why you didn't continue student council...they do give you ~50 words next to each activity. I mean, when people are evaluating you based solely on one application, it's hard to say too much, you know?

yo what's up Dally!!

anyways, yeah, if you're sending in a resume with your app, I'd just add the note there.

I dont think ill send a resume. MIT says only send it if u haev many things to add not in hte appliaction (another facet). My school doesnt give out awards or anything, doesnt compete in many competitions, so unless I make like siemens semis/regionals i have nothing significant.

It doesn't have to be a "resume." It could just be an extension of the 5 activities by including a little description. From what I experienced, MIT is one of the more flexible schools when it comes to supplementaries.
