So I've been a high-ranking student with pretty much all A's including a perfect GPA first semster of my junior year which I am extremely proud of, but I had like a B or 2 in between (i got a B in drivers ed lol...didn't count in my GPA though!) I think like second semster of junior year.

Now, I am a senior who was deferred at Penn's Huntsman program so my mid year report is pretty crucial. But I guess this year was extremely overwhelming for me with college apps and tons of EC committments and I sorta lagged behind a little bit. So now I have 2 b's on my midyear report...I'm still waiting on one more grade that was borderline and I sure hope I made it to that A, but with my luck these past few days I guess I don't know for sure...

Is this going to seal my rejection? I'm still planning on sending a letter of interest, an extra rec, and new achievements I've had since my decision some of which are pretty big....

Also, as a side note, does anyone know if NYU requires mid year reports? I did a search on their website which didn't really say anything so I looked on CC and seem to finding mixed answers!

I made 2 B’s senior year for the first time and I felt pretty bad. All the seniors from last year told me that senior year was blowoff , but to me I thought it was one of my hardest years! I dont think it will alter anything much. What classes did you get a B in? I got a B in Calc AP and Eco AP. I think colleges will understand if you get a B in a challenging course. and plus your sending in extra stuff because it shows that you are intersted.

yeah I was trying to figure out if NYU needed it and I dont think you do. I went on commonapp and clicked School Forms for them and it didnt say Mid Year report!!

Yeah my B’s were in AP classes so idk… lol hopefully that makes a difference.

And I totally agree! This year has been my most stressful year in high school…everything was in full gear first semester!!

I guess NYU doesn’t need a midyear…I’ve searched several threads on CC about this and many of them say that it is not needed. Maybe I’ll call them on Monday just to check, because if that’s the case, I’d rather my school not send it in for NYU since my grades were better before this year!
