Should I major in a less competitive major and then switch at UCSD?

Hi! So I'm a senior in high school in the process of applying for college. I want to major in sociology and I'm really interested in going to UCSD because they have a specific department under that major for Health & Medicine. I know that its not a very impacted major but UCSD is my top school at this point and I want to have a good chance of attending the school next year. Based on my stats, should I just apply as a sociology major or apply for something less popular like history or ethnic studies and then switch? and if i did, would it be hard to switch into sociology ?
Acad GPA (9-12) 3.70
Acad GPA (10-12) 3.64
Total GPA ( 9-12) 3.74
The only AP'/Honors I took are AP Lang, AP US History, and Honors Precalc junior year, and this year I'm taking AP lit and Ap calc along with Advanced Sports Medicine but it doesn't receive extra credit.
I played volleyball and track sophomore and junior year and continuing track senior year.
I was secretary of College & Career Club last year, and now I'm Vice president and PR. I'm also president of a club outside of school and chaplain for all 4 years of high school.I'm also in NHS and have around 170 hours of community service hours mostly from a pregnancy center and bowling center for the autistic. I worked as a waitress at a restaurant and receptionist at a nail salon.
I'm also a first generation college student and also immigrated here from Vietnam when i was 4.
I havent taken the sat yet but based off of sat diagnostics I'll probably get 1800-1900.
