Should I major in something with limited future job prospects?

<p>Thanks for the reply and sorry for the "prominent attorney" bit. The reason why I posted is that my HS senior son is currently interested in law and business. He applied to a number of universities including some with strong 4-year business programs (offering potentially significant merit scholarships). For those universities he had to choose whether to apply to the business school or the liberal arts school and in most cases he selected the business school.</p>

<p>He just wants to feel reasonably confident that choosing the business track won't handicap him in the eyes of the law school admissions staff (of course he realizes that he would have to earn superior grades and LSAT scores in college to be competitive for law school admissions). </p>

<p>Your post makes sense to me and confirms what I would like to believe but I guess there's still a part of me that wonders whether there are other issues involved that I am not aware of given my unfamiliarity with the law school admissions process.</p>
