I read in a book that calling admissions department will increase your chances of admissions because it means you have interest and that people support you.

I thought my math teacher would be a good idea since i'm wanna major in Computer Science.
However, I thought about it and it might be a bit awkward sine i'm an international and she's definitely not used to doing this. Do you think I should ask? Or is there a chance that doing so will backfire in the sense that the admissions dept won't see the teacher's call as a "good" thing?

I told my teacher I wanted to talk to her tomorrow and I might not want to ask her about calling anymore... It would be weird, because there is a chance she might say no.

Any tips or any thing I could talk to her about tomorrow instead?

I would not do this. I do not think this is a common practice in the U.S., nor do I think it’s a call that the admissions office would really welcome.

(I’ll also say that if I were your teacher, I would not want you to think you could “make” me call on your behalf. I’m sure you didn’t intend it quite that way.)

As for what to say instead, how about, “I thought I had an issue with my college applications, but I have resolved it on my own. But thank you for your willingness to meet.” I don’t know that many teachers who resent it when they find some time in their work day unexpectedly.
