FallenAngel: Thank you :] It’s nice to be reminded that I’m not alone.

I don’t think it’s advisable. As your grades etc. haven’t suffered egregiously, leave it out. You’re competitive without mentioning it, so it might hurt.

Matt: Exactly - I don’t know how it will be perceived which is why I’m asking for a bunch of opinions. If mentioning my problem will show that I overcame an obstacle and help to explain my freshman grades, then I may do it.

If it’s something that you have overcome to the point in which it has benefited your perspective and mentality, in addition to improving who you are as an individual, then it might not be a negative aspect to incorporate in your application. From what I’ve been able to comprehend, colleges are fond of learning what students have overcome for the better. If your situation with depression has had a significant impact on you, then I’d recommend that you incorporate it. You are who you are. Hiding that in fear of how it will be perceived won’t benefit you. Colleges want applicants to be expressive and honest. It’s more preferable to do that than telling them what you think that they want to hear.

Got it. I won’t mention it.

Gyrfalk: I already stated that I’m getting better - slowly, but surely, and that my work was not a cause of depression, just stress :]

Wartsandall: That’s true. This has definitely significantly impacted my life, and as my perspective is turning around after nearly 2 years, I’m finally able to live up to my potential in high school.

Oh my god, I didn’t know that. I love her poetry.

Well, I’ve never seriously considered suicide, soo I don’t think I’ll end up like her.

I somehow read that as “pottery” and got really confused for a second. Then I thought of the title of The Bell Jar and found it humorous.

Well aren’t you Debbie Downer! Hahah.

Millancad: Hahaha:] that kinda makes sense since gyrfalk said that she burned herself in an oven and pottery bakes in an oven… yeah, I’m corny.

I have finals starting Thursday, too
but I have 2 projects and homework uggh

Lucky!

I’m not sure yet…I’m really into writing/journalism, environmental studies, and social issues but who knows? What about you?

Usually, I think, it’s in a kiln, but that’s even better than that up with which I came. ■■■■, archaic ideas about prepositions suck.

I went to bed at 9AM last night/this morning (well yesterday morning since it’s past midnight, but whatevs). I really need to be more reasonable.

Hahah, yeah, I know but I thought that a kiln was a type of oven…? Maybe not. Wowzaaa! I was up until 5 AMish watching Get A Clue one night, and Toy Story 2 the next. I’m such a 7 year-old.

Gyrfalk: I know nothing about engineering! Are you a junior?
