should i mention these ecs?

Hey guys,

So i have 3 main ecs that are really really good. i also did two really great internships and i worked as a caddy one summer which is very rare for a high school girl so i think these are all great to put down, but i have a bunch of clubs that i have done but i don't hold leadership positions but still like to be an active part of. do you think i should include them?

also, how strict do you think approximate hours on common app are? cus one thing i do isnt every week but i may spend 5 hours a couple times a month. but i cant really put down approx hrs per week and approx weeks per yr becuase it changes constantly.

Non leadership clubs- hmm kinda lame. If its like save the whales club or whatever, I don’t see how it would help your apps but I am not that sure

On the hours, yes you can put hours per week/year. Add up all the hours and divide. you can do it! :)

Have you contributed even without a leadership position? If not, it’s unlikely to help at all in admissions–indeed, some schools don’t even consider membership-only clubs, and some with official “ranking” systems for admissions, like the UCs, don’t award any points for club memberships.

^ Hey, but what if the club doesn’t have any leadership positions available? (like my mock trial team…)

I think it’s better to show that you were involved, even if you weren’t in a leadership position, than to not include it. You want to have a good balance on your application.
