Should I not have taken the SAT?

I think I totally bombed the may SAT, but it's now too late to cancel my scores. I got a 33 on the ACT, but alot of schools I'm applying to prefer subject tests also, so my SAT score will be sent...is there anything I should do with this? Do alot of you guys take the sub tests only?

Don't worry.

1) You can't do anything about it now.
2) Colleges won't pay attention to your SAT score if your ACT score is higher.

Relax, and just hope for the best!
There's no use in doing anything else.

Well there's not much you can do at this point. Colleges typically will consider the best score between the ACT and SAT (works in their favour to, in terms of stats), so don't worry, if you did indeed "bomb" your SAT, they'll take your ACT score + your SATII scores.

well I guess my question is...is it better to not take the SAT in the first place if you haven't prepared for it if you are considering sending your SAT II scores?

For your specific example, you've already taken it so there's no use in worrying about it now.

In general... I think it's best to prepare for the SAT. But if you are going to be using your ACT, and all the schools you're applying to accept the ACT in lieu of the SAT I don't see a point in taking it in the first place. However, if you do, I'm almost positive colleges look at your best score (SAT v. ACT) so your SAT would have no bearing on admissions.
