I'm planning on joining a frat but i'm also studying engineering. I was wondering if that doesn't seem like a good idea. Its just i like to party and so down to joining a frat but i dont know if its a bad idea, what do you guys think?

no frat, think for yourself!

You can definitely join a house if you’re studying engineering. However, I wouldn’t take more than 12 credit hours the semester that you are a pledge.

Check out the Triangle fraternity, which is for Engineers, scientists and architects. My son loves it, and it appears to be more academic than party driven.

I know a lot of engineers who went Greek. You can do it if you want. I would suggest taking easier classes on the semester you will be pledging, however.
