Should I play soccer???

Hi guys, Im currently a second year at a community college in the Bay Area. I meet all the requirements for the UCSB Tag and that was the school I intended to go while in high school. Now though my sight has shifted to Berkeley. Im a Econ major and if I get all A's in my fall classes my GPA should be a 3.5. The average for a transfer Econ major for Berkeley is 3.8, would doing soccer help me bridge the gap? If I have no chance at Berkeley, I might as well quit soccer and be content with UCSB. (I love soccer but its time consuming, games on Tuesdays and Fridays and practices on the rest of the week days) Thanks guys for your help!

You could always apply and hope for the best.
Even if it you don’t get into Cal, ucsb has a decent soccer team, wouldn’t you want to keep playing there?

Hi TeamAmerica, UCSB has a great soccer team but I don’t think I would make it to their team since they attract great player not just nationally but internationally. I’m going to play since it keeps all my options open.

Honestly, doing soccer won’t help much, if at all, with trying to get into Berkeley. If you want to do it, then go for it, but don’t expect it to help with getting into Haas.
