Should I practice to do well on the SAT or ACT?

So I took practice tests for both and got a 1710 on the SAT and a 21 on the ACT. I know you guys are going to tell me to shoot to do well on the SAT, but hear me out. I felt like the questions on the ACT were much easier than those on the SAT. Also I ran out of time on every section and did not bubble in random answers because I thought they took points away like on the SAT. I only completed 45/70 on the writing section and got a 15 on that section. All the other sections I got a 23 or a 24 on and I got like a 6 on my essay. I'm a junior and my GPA is like a 3.9 weighted with APs being 5.0 and honors being 4.5. How do my chances look of getting into a good school? Also I just got a tutor for the either test depending on what we chose. What steps should I take in order to get into increase my chances of getting into where I want to go(haven't decided yet).

Do a few more practice tests on each to find out you can do better on which test. You should have started the test prep in the Summer before junior. If there is no big difference between the two, you may want to take ACT as it may waive the requirement of SAT2 for some schools. Anyway, you may also take both tests as well.

Please define a “good school”. Are you talking an Ivy League or a school like Pitt?
