(I actually don’t know if this is the right thread for this but it seemed like it was?)
I’ve been putting together my list for colleges I want to apply to in the fall, and one my tops is the New School. I noticed they had a BA/BFA 5 year program, and that really intrigued me. I’m torn between art school and liberal arts education at the moment, though leaning towards art school. So this premise of being able to pursue multiple things I love is really exciting to me. (If they let me in, though from what I’ve read I would get in), I would plan on doing either graphic design or illustration & literature or history.
I was wondering if other people had done this program / similar programs, and what their experiences were? How was the course load? Did you feel like you couldn’t really concentrate on one thing at once? Overall, did you consider it worth it?
What I am most worried about is spending an extra year at school and it in the end not being worth the money and time.
