The FASFA requires ten schools, but my school requires us apply to six CUNY schools and four SUNY schools which is ten already. I applied to some privates which will make it more than ten, what should I do?

Your high school REQUIRES this? I’m curious about this. What if a student does not plan to ATTEND any of these schools. What is the purpose of applying to colleges where a student has no intention of matriculating?

^Because the CUNY application is like $40 for 6 schools, so were not wasting money. Then they want us to apply to about 4 SUNYs in case we can’t go to a private. My school limits us to 6 or 7 privates schools, which is ridiculous. I have no intention to go to my state schools.

Your school limits you? That’s weird.

Very odd…I have heard of some schools where the GC’s insist on ONE public app. Imho, 10 in the same state is beyond excessive, not to mention an utter waste of time and precious labor resources for the colleges! If you have a few publics that you’re using as safeties then I would say send them your FAFSA and then put your 6-7 privates…the HS has no way of knowing that you decided to skip the others and save yourself some time and the overworked FA folks there from packaging aid for you!

Yea that’s what I did. I just put in all my privates and the state schools I will consider, my safeties will just go last.
