My friend suggested me that I should add I got rejected from ucb and ucla b4 (when i applied in high school)

and im applying again to show them that i really want this

What do u guys think?

I think they will already know that i applied b4 since they have my record. and i dont have any more space to add, but if its really good to add then i'll try to add that

I don't think it's particularly relevant. Distinguishing yourself in high school and distinguishing yourself in college are two different games. I don't think they care, and I think it could only pose a distraction in their evaluation.

1.) They have record of you.
2.) They do not care whether you got rejected before or not. As a matter of fact, they won't care if you even applied to their school before.

So don't bother putting in that extra thing. No need to beg for the spot.

I would only mention that if the topic of my personal statement had to do with how you got rejected from UC, but you had a burning desire and wouldn't let anything stop you, won't tolerate failure, etc...so you attended CCC, earned an outstanding GPA, did all kinds of legit extracurriculars and now you're back with a vengeance, etc, etc

While we're on the topic, may I pose a hypothetical?

Say I get rejected from my choice UC schools(as a transfer applicant), is it kosher to re-apply for in the following year and or quarter?

I once talked to a berkely rep and he said something about being able to apply again if under a different major than before, can anyone elaborate?
